Lots to tell you about this week – it was lovely to get back to the market and see what was about, lots of British produce to choose from, even saw Brussel Sprouts!! Not quite ready for those yet, even though they are delicious. Lots of English plums to choose from Victoria, Marjorie and President. New season English apples are now in stock, we have Braeburn and Cox. We have been trying some new salad combinations while we were off so watch this space. The lovely Jo will be back this week with her amazing pies, so watch out for her video tomorrow. Before we finished from our summer break. Barry Snaith our very popular Evri delivery man and talented performer/artist, came and filmed a couple of clips in the shop, all should be revealed during the next couple of weeks. 😬

This week both boxes include all the ingredients for our very popular chickpea and potato curry. if you haven’t tried this curry recipe before you are in for a treat. This simple to make but delicious curry is full of flavour, delicious served on its own or with naan bread/flat bread or chapati.

Both boxes include English fine beans grown in the Wye Valley by the Chinn family. Available from July to October these beans are hand-picked, chilled and packed on the same day in their-on farm pack-house for the ultimate in freshness and flavour.

Late season English plums – Marjorie are also in both boxes, a very popular Victorian dessert plum with a very good sweet flavour, also perfect for jam making.

English sweetcorn is at its very best at the moment, exceptionally sweet and juicy, we have included them in both boxes.

Cheese of the week is Cricket St Thomas Capricorn goats cheese, beautifully balanced with a mild and nutty flavour, this multiple award winning team of cheesemakers use a process of ripening that creates an irresistible full flavour and creamy texture. A tasty alternative to cow’s milk cheeses, It is perfect for all cheese lovers and suitable for vegetarians. Try crumbled into salads, grilled over vegetables or add to your favourite toasty for the ultimate cheese-lovers treat. £3.20 100g

We have included an Spanish Osteen mango in our £25 box this week, Spanish mangoes are in season now until mid to late October, these are the only ones in the world that reach the marketplace clad in their own waxen coat and therefore not washed or treated with edible varnishes or fungicides.
